OKC Athletes Stand Out at World Championships

Twenty athletes from the OKC National High Performance Center competed on the world stage last week. Seventeen rowers competed in numerous events at the 2013 World Rowing Championships in Chungju, South Korea. The championships wrapped up last Sunday and Oklahoma City definitely stood out. Kate Bertko took home the silver medal in the Lightweight Women’s Double and the Men’s Eight, Men’s Four, and Legs, Trunk and Arms Mixed Double each earned a bronze medal! Three canoe/kayakers who train at the OKC National High Performance Center competed at the 2013 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Duisburg, Germany.  Maggie Hogan and Kaitlyn McElroy finished 5th in the B Final for the women’s K-2 500m and Arezou Motamedi placed 6th in her B Final for the women’s K-1 1000m event.
