Rowing

Rowing is a fun way to get on the water and anyone ages 11+ can try it out. Whether you’re picking up an oar for the first time or an experienced rower, we have a youth rowing program for you! At the Oklahoma City Boathouse District and Route 66 Boathouse we offer lessons, camps, coached teams and much more to get you out on the water and having fun.

Want to know if rowing is right for you? Sign up for RIVERSPORT School Discover Rowing to learn the basics. Or join the Chesapeake Junior Crew – we’ll teach you everything you need to know. We also offer the RIVERSPORT High School League for schools that want to have a team.

You’ll find rowing provides competition like no other, and it will put you in the best physical condition of your life. Cardiovascular conditioning, strength, balance, flexibility, and unparalleled teamwork…rowing brings it all together on the water. If you’re looking for something that’s a little different, a little more challenging, and a lot more exciting than anything you’ve ever done before – get on the water. Discover Rowing →

Learn the basics of sculling or sweep rowing in an afternoon! Discover Rowing lessons are offered 1-3p every other Saturday in the Boathouse District, April through September. You’ll learn basic rowing techniques and all the safety info you’ll need to start rowing. All 2014 on-the-water lessons have ended but will reopen in April 2015.

SandRidge Youth League →

Rowing is the newest Olympic sport available to high school students in the Oklahoma City area. A pilot program in 2009 established the first season of the OKC RIVERSPORT SandRidge Youth League with U.S. Grant High School, NW Classen High School and Capitol Hill High School participating.
