OKC National High Performance Center
The OKC National High Performance Center offers a unique training opportunity for America’s top athletes in both rowing and canoe/kayak.
On the water, the Oklahoma River is rapidly emerging as one of the premier urban aquatic venues in the world. Its 2000m sprint course and two 4000m training courses combined with the region’s temperate weather make it possible to be on the water year round.
The OKC National High Performance Center’s training facilities and equipment are among the best in the world. Headquartered in the Devon Boathouse, this $10 million, 33,000 sq/ft facility houses 50 ergometers and up to 100 boats including fleets of Empacher, Hudson, Fillippi and Fluid shells for rowing, and Nelo sprint kayaks and canoes for flatwater sprint.
The center also features the world’s first dynamic rowing tank and offers a high altitude room for training up to 12,000 ft, an indoor propulsion swim pool, a wide variety of cross training equipment, and state-of-the-art strength and conditioning equipment. Sports science and performance technology includes video analysis and biometrics. Sports medicine and athletic training resources are available through local partnerships with St. Anthony Hospital and other medical providers.
